Tonimbuk Equestrian Centre ARD BLACK CAT (Irish Sport Horse 16.2 hh black stallion -  Imported from Ireland) ISH, IHR 2079984    Performance Tested and approved by the Irish Horse Board.    ARD BLACK CAT  (Catty) is a 16.2 hand Irish Sport Horse stallion. He is Performance Tested and approved by the Irish Horse Board.  His sire, Ard Allez Cat (XX) was the only Thoroughbred Stallion that show jumped at International level in either Great Britain or Ireland. (Certainly quite a different situation than here in Australia.) He had a marvelous temperament and at 7 achieved A grade and finished 6th in the National AB Championships, won many Millstreet International Jumping ABC classes, won the Leinster League Dressage Championship and also evented successfully. Ard Black Cat’s dam Ard Because (ISH) is by the legendary Clover Hill and out of a mare from the famous Chou Chin Chow line which produced Chouman who was ridden by Nelson Pessoa. ARD BLACK CAT therefore combines Ireland’s best thoroughbred jumping bloodlines with its best Irish Sport Horse jumping bloodlines. As a 3 year old he won the Bank of Ireland Young Irelander Championship and at the Royal Dublin Horse Show, the Loose Jumping Final. As a 4 year old he won the Champion Green Hunter at the Royal Dublin Society Horse Show and further went on to gain 27 jumping points. As a 5 and 6 year old he showjumped and earned 93 SJAI (Show Jumping Association of Ireland) points and as a 6 year old he evented and was graded Intermediate after only 5 starts.   After arriving in Australia he initially evented with success however after Pat and I witnessed a dreadful accident at Adelaide Three Day Event, we decided that the risks were too high and so “Catty” was destined to become a showjumper.  Ard Black Cat is now B grade and his greatest achievement to date is winning the N.S.W. Showjumping Council’s Futurity event.
